Welding and metal fabrication place demands on workstation equipment that general-purpose benches cannot meet. Stray welding current, heavy workpiece loads, and the physical demands of sustained welding operations all require a table designed specifically for the purpose. OTTOKIND multi4flex welding tables are engineered for these conditions: built in Germany since 1960, rated to 2,000 kg, and equipped with electrical decoupling as standard.
Height-adjustable welding tables built for production use
The multi4flex welding table adjusts electrically from 500 mm to 1,000 mm with a digital display and per-operator memory settings. Each welder stores their preferred height and recalls it in seconds at shift start — no manual adjustment, no compromise posture. The welding plate features system perforation in 16 mm, 22 mm or 28 mm pitch to accommodate clamping and fixturing equipment.
- Electric height adjustment: 500 mm travel with digital display and per-operator memory presets
- Welding plate perforation: 16 mm, 22 mm or 28 mm pitch to suit your fixturing standard
- Electrical decoupling between frame and welding plate as standard
- Heavy Duty models: 2,000 kg static load capacity for large fabrications
- Mobile versions on 200 mm heavy-duty castors for flexible cell layouts
- Synchronised height coupling for joined multi-table configurations
Electrical decoupling: why it matters
Stray welding current passing through a height-adjustment motor is one of the most common causes of component failure in non-specialist tables. The multi4flex addresses this at the design stage by electrically isolating the welding plate from the steel frame. This protects the motor and drive mechanism regardless of welding process or current level — it is built in, not retrofitted.
A complete welding cell, not just a table
OTTOKIND provides everything needed to build a complete, organised welding cell around the same structural frame. Back panels, perforated uprights, hooks and bins, LED task lighting, integrated power sockets and compressed air connections all attach to the multi4flex without additional fixings or adapters. When your process or product changes, you reconfigure the accessories — the table stays.
- Perforated back panels with square-hole hooks for consumables and tools
- Open-fronted storage bins for welding rods, wire, nozzles and tips
- LED workplace luminaires with adjustable arm for positional and inspection lighting
- Integrated Schuko power sockets, front and rear
- Compressed air connections for cleaning and blow-off
- Drawer cabinets rated to 200 kg per drawer for heavy tooling and fixturing
Manual handling compliance for welding environments
The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 require employers to reduce musculoskeletal risk where reasonably practicable. Fixed-height welding benches force welders to adopt awkward postures for flat, vertical and overhead work. HSE guidance on welding is explicit that the working height should allow the task to be performed between waist and elbow height at all times — something a fixed bench cannot provide.
Height-adjustable welding tables with memory presets allow each welder to set their correct position and recall it immediately. For employers who have received an HSE manual handling improvement notice, this is the primary recognised engineering control for bench-based welding operations.
